Policies

These are the editorial policies of Conscious Management Journal (CMI Journal, ISSN 2792-5404), published by Conscious Management Institute S.A. (CMI Higher Education), Madrid (Spain).

1. Open access

CMI Journal is a diamond open-access journal: all articles are available immediately, free of charge and permanently upon publication, with no registration and no embargo period.

2. Fees

The journal charges no fees to authors: no submission, review or publication fees (no APCs). Readers are not charged either.

3. Copyright and licence

Authors retain the copyright of their work without restrictions and grant the journal the right of first publication. Articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International licence (CC BY 4.0), which allows anyone to copy, distribute, adapt and reuse the content for any purpose, provided that the authors and the original publication in CMI Journal are credited. Authors may deposit the published version in institutional or subject repositories, on their personal websites and on academic networks, with a reference to the journal.

4. Review process

Research articles: each manuscript first undergoes an editorial review (fit with the journal's scope, formal quality and originality) and, if it passes, is sent to at least two independent external reviewers, experts in the field with no conflict of interest with the authors, under a double-blind system (neither authors nor reviewers know each other's identity). The final decision (accept, accept with revisions or reject) is taken by the Director, the Editor or the Editorial Board on the basis of the reports, and is sent to the authors together with the reviewers' comments.

Management practice: papers in this section, aimed at managers and practitioners, undergo editorial review and review by an expert in the field.

Vol. 4 (2026): the articles in this volume come from master's theses at CMI Higher Education, selected for their quality after assessment by the corresponding academic panel and an editorial review. The peer-review process described above applies to all manuscripts from Vol. 5 (2027) onwards.

5. Publication ethics

CMI Journal follows the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). Authors, editors and reviewers must declare any conflict of interest; editors and reviewers do not assess papers with which they are connected. Authorship, funding and conflict-of-interest criteria are set out in the author guidelines.

6. Plagiarism and originality

The journal does not tolerate plagiarism, self-plagiarism, data fabrication or manipulation, or duplicate publication. Before review, the editorial team checks the originality of manuscripts. Papers involving misconduct are rejected and, if misconduct is detected after publication, action is taken in line with COPE guidelines.

7. Corrections and retractions

If a published article contains errors that affect its results or conclusions, a correction linked to the original article is published. In cases of proven misconduct, a retraction is published following COPE guidelines; the retracted article remains accessible with a visible retraction notice.

8. Digital preservation

The journal's content is kept with daily backups on the publisher's servers and archived in the PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN), a distributed preservation network for journals using Open Journal Systems. The metadata of all articles is available through the OAI-PMH protocol for harvesting by repositories and indexes.

9. Personal data

The names and email addresses entered in this journal are used exclusively for the stated purposes and are not shared with third parties. See the privacy statement.

10. Advertising

CMI Journal does not include advertising or sponsored content.
