Abstract
LAAM Transforma is a business plan for a Dominican professional services firm specialising in the strategic transformation of talent management departments. The plan starts from a diagnosis of the local market: according to a Deloitte study cited by the newspaper El Dinero, more than 53% of companies in the Dominican Republic still manage people manually and with a traditional approach, and, according to PwC, fewer than 11% of companies in Central America and the Dominican Republic have formal ESG reports. In response, the founders design a modular portfolio of thirteen services (organisational diagnosis and redesign, cultural and leadership transformation, HR digitalisation, people analytics, diversity, equity and inclusion, HR outsourcing, sustainability plans, among others), delivered through a five-stage method and packaged into three plans priced between USD 2,600 and USD 8,500, plus support subscriptions. The firm applies to itself what it sells: a 360° appraisal system, a diversity plan with key performance indicators, a total compensation scheme and a sustainability plan structured around talent, environmental, social and economic pillars. The financial plan requires an initial investment of RD$5.27 million, financed mainly by the partners’ own funds and a bank loan, and projects revenues of USD 254,000, 320,200 and 522,950 over the first three years, with an expected net profit rising from RD$0.96 million to RD$12.56 million. The article distils lessons for managers who wish to reposition the HR function as a strategic partner of the business.
